The Facility Maintenance Assistant works under close supervision of the Facility Maintenance Technician and is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair work to the facilities and grounds as directed. In addition, this position will assist with oversight of the facilities contractors.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of office facilities, which may include utility, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and masonry.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of the facility's grounds and parking lots.
  • Respond to and track requested maintenance tasks using the appropriate forms.
  • Assist with the oversight of the landscape, janitorial, and pest control contractors.
  • Perform regular walk through of the facilities and grounds to identify areas that need maintenance work.
  • Assist the office staff as requested to complete maintenance-related tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management.
  • Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.
Qualifications 
  • High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year of relevant experience are required. Experience with EMaint maintenance work order system is preferred.
  • Must have basic math and computer skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Ability to work independently and with others. Ability to meet established deadlines and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.  
Physical Demand Requirements
 
​Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
