 As a Prime Claims Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high quality claim handling for all first notice of loss, coaching team members on technical claims excellence, and partnering with key stakeholders. How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Ensures team is providing proactive customer service by appropriately setting expectations, building rapport, and responding to requests timely
  • Manages workflow and resources appropriately--staffing, workloads, scheduling, and performance management when needed
  • Ensures team is utilizing appropriate tools and resources to resolve claims efficiently
  • Communicates strategy, priorities, and expectations and does so often to ensure the team is aligned in the claims mission and understands their relationship with the wider organization
  • Hires, coaches, trains, develops and licenses claim professionals.
  • Completes monthly performance meetings, annual performance appraisals, call audits, and participates in salary recommendations
  • Leads team development with subject matter expertise learning and onboarding.
  • Handles special projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Seeks continuous improvement opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Ensures statutory and legal compliance
  • Reviews files for coaching and direction on technical excellence in claims. Ensures thorough and timely analysis, application and communication of coverage is conducted. Transfers claim to regional team if coverage documentation, use of Reservation of Rights, Non-Waivers, and/or coverage letters are needed.
  • Ensures claims are investigated to consider early detection of indicators that warrant a referral to SIU
  • Ensures initial reserves are set in a timely manner and continually reviewed in the context of ultimate probable exposure. 
  • Ensures paid losses are managed appropriately; adjuster is paying what is fair and owed and is resolving claims at the optimal time in the life of the file utilizing the proper method of payment
  • Ensures team is controlling file expenses and thorough review of expenses incurred, monitoring and controlling Loss Adjustment Expenses. Ensures approved suppliers are used appropriately.
  • Ensures proper recognition, investigation, referral and communication regarding subrogation throughout the life of the file.
  • Instructs team to conduct thorough and timely claim investigations including utilization of ISO
  • Ensures the team is complying with privacy policy/requirement
  • Develops and follows action plans and properly utilizes Suspense system to manage timeliness of needed activity, mail worked promptly and communications responded to timely all to move claim towards resolution.
  • Proactively perpetuates the culture, embraces Central’s core values, and supports Central’s claims mission
  • Collaborates with peers to execute on strategy for claims Mission of Hospitality, Outcomes and Efficiency at Team and individual level
  • Develops and maintains excellent rapport with the Central Team, internal stakeholders, and Agency Partners.  Gives timely, value-add feedback to internal stakeholders- UW, LC, Subrogation, SIU

What You’ll Bring 

  • Property/Casualty Adjuster Licensing Required in all states that require licensing and must be obtained within three months of employment.
  • Must maintain all Property/Casualty Adjuster License(s) in order to comply with state requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 2 years of experience
  • Or 4 years of P&C claims handling experience
  • Available to work extended hours, weekends and/or overnight travel as required

Preferred

  • Proficient Excel skills
