As a Reinsurance Analyst, you will work with the Risk and Capital Management team focusing on the ERM framework for the efficient deployment of capital. This includes understanding the relationship that the returns on underwriting and investments have on the overall returns for the company. Within the return on underwriting, key areas include reinsurance structure, reinsurance management, and CAT modeling and monitoring, The team also supports Investment reporting and analysis that includes Realized Gain analysis, as well as understanding the relationship between returns and volatility.


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Provide detailed analyses on the current and prospective reinsurance program, aiding in the strategic decision-making process. 
  • Manage the administration of the company’s reinsurance contracts within our reinsurance system, to ensure proper ceding of losses and premiums.
  • Support the implementation and/or administration of projects on the reinsurance software to improve or sustain data quality.
  • Support reinsurance treaty audits.
  • Develop analysis and presentation materials to provide structure during discussions in various meetings (such as: Corporate Review, Board, etc.).
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to meet operational objectives, as assigned.
  • Ability to leverage tools and resources, such as S&P Global, to provide industry and peer analysis.
  • Provide support for proof reconciliations.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including reinsurers and reinsurance brokers, providing accurate reinsurance reporting.
  • Maintain an understanding of contract language, program structures and underwriting implications.
  • Collaborate regularly with Underwriting, Legal, Claims, Accounting and Actuarial.

What You’ll Bring

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Finance, or other related degree
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Finance, or other related degree and 2 years’ experience in data analysis
  • Or 4 years of experience in data analysis
  • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possesses verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
  • Possesses multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Ability to understand Central Insurance’s policies and processes
  • Proficient use of Excel in addition to other Microsoft Office products
  • Comprehension of insurance financial accounting
  • Solid underwriting and reinsurance acumen
  • Analysis of scenarios and potential outcomes, including likelihoods
  • Strong analytical aptitude; judge the reasonability of analysis and data

Preferred

  • Excellent analytical aptitude; judge the reasonability of analysis and data
  • Property and casualty industry experience
  • ARe designation
