Museum Assistant - Part-Time
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Culver Academies Museum Assistant is responsible for providing strong customer service and public relations; greeting museum patrons during open museum hours, assisting museum patrons with exhibit interpretation, ringing up sales and monitoring stock for replenishment in the gift shop.
The position is also responsible for assisting the Museum-Archives Manager in cataloging, storing, and organizing new and existing items for the museum collection. The position also includes research in both the paper files of the school and via digital resources.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess a high school diploma or high school equivalency. Good organizational/planning skills, discipline and an ability to meet deadlines are required. This position requires strong interpersonal and relational skills with the ability to meet people with ease. This position requires an understanding of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Understand how to use flash drives and memory cards, know how to insert links and videos into a presentation, know how to use CD, DVD, and mp3 players, and able to recognize spam. Conduct complex sorting, applying filters, and using different views on spreadsheets and databases as well as the ability to work a cash register and perform basic bookkeeping.
