THE ROLE: We are looking for a bilingual Case Manager to provide wraparound case management services to asylum seekers, SIVs, granted asylees and humanitarian parolees throughout the Greater Puget Sound area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Case Manager will:

· Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate case management services to assigned caseload of clients.

· Ensure clients have appropriate healthcare, health insurance, have been connected to available benefits, and received a refugee health screening. Individuals should also be assessed for other social determinants of health needs.

· Ensure appropriate documentation and gather outcome data under the direction of the Program Manager.

· Develop and maintain relationships with refugee communities, resettlement agencies, mutual assistance associations, and other community based organizations.

· Work effectively with community members (staff, clients, doctors, agencies, etc.) to reduce cultural and socio-economic barriers between clients and institutions.

· Keep statistics and anecdotal information to support grant writing for the organization.

· Communicate information to clients and providers clearly and succinctly, both written and verbal.

· Requires strict adherence of HIPAA standards in the office workspace to ensure confidentiality.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in relevant field.

· Minimum of 2 years working in a case management or social service role.

· Minimum of 2 year working with refugee, immigrant and migrant communities

· Knowledge of and cultural responsiveness to the immigrant population

· Must have an understanding of American culture

· Must be familiar with city and state refugee programs

· Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

· Bilingual in English/Dari/Pashto

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and understand directions.  Must have the ability to write memos and other basic correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, and the general public.  Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English with one additional language.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Frequent travel in King County. Possible travel in Pierce County. Requires a valid Washington State Driver’s License and auto insurance.
