We are seeking applicants for a Purchasing Manager in our International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.


Principle Responsibilities

  • Manage the purchasing and storeroom functions
  • Ensure compliance with all PCA purchasing policies
  • Manage the vendor evaluation process, with an effective vendor evaluation schedule and disciplined follow up of vendor status criteria
  • Oversee the quoting, purchase order and order tracking functions
  • Hiring and training staff
  • Buy materials and services
  • Prepare request for quotes and bid packages
  • Maintain adequate inventories to ensure no operational disruptions
  • Ensure the accuracy of storeroom transactions
  • Determine appropriate MRO and critical spare parts/supply inventories for the warehouses under his/her supervision, and procurement support for capital projects.
  • Supervise purchasing agents
  • Identify alternate sources for materials and services
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • CPM preferred
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
