Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for achieving facility goals related to measurable objectives, as well as meeting productivity targets based on budget, safety, morale of the associates, overall quality, and outstanding customer service for production area.

Principle Accountabilities: 

  • Provide supervision, guidance, technical support, coaching and training to assigned team(s)
  • Plan, organize and control activities of team(s), coaching and training to assigned team(s)
  • Create and foster an environment that makes work enjoyable.
  • Observe team performance and (alert team leaders) to provide coaching on areas requiring improvement.
  • Organize lines as efficiently as possible continuously improving as necessary. Use automation as much as possible.
  • Full understanding of business/performance metrics and impact across Fulfillment sites
  • Identify barriers to performance and assist Production Manager in identifying/analyzing root cause and effect and develop action plans to resolve.
  • Ensure daily production targets are met for team(s) by focusing on resource planning and developing contingency business plans based company sales performance
  • Assist and/or develop processes and procedures working with manager or cross-functionally with other supervisors to improve efficiency across Fulfillment site.
  • Develop “continual training” strategy for non-exempt employees within area and cross-functionally with other supervisors.
  • Provide a safe work environment for the employees. Keep the production area clean and hazards reduced as much as possible.
  • Coach leads in reviewing production requirements and assigning employees to tasks.
  • Conduct daily interaction with team leaders and staff to provide feedback on performance, progress toward goals, safety topics, operational results and business updates and seek input from staff on methods to impact efficiency, accuracy and safety
  • Complete Performance Reviews, Performance Development Plan and counseling of individuals on team
  • Expected to spend 80% of time on floor and 20% in office time
  • Complete projects as assigned
  • Know and follow policies and procedures of the company, share information that would benefit other members of the team and find ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers.

Decision Making:

 

The Supervisor - Fulfillment is expected to foster a positive work environment for the production/line staff when serving customers and other internal departments.  The Supervisor- Fulfillment is required to make decisions regarding employee challenges, quality of product and process, within the parameters of PCAs business standards.   This position is expected to model standards of professionalism and provide direction and guidance to direct reports.  The Supervisor Fulfillment is expected to exercise solid judgment in dealing with employee concerns, interactions with internal departments, and administer the department’s resources for the maximum return.  This position provides direct oversight of employees, approves time records, communicates and enforces company policy.  Relative to Production, engages in employee development activities, makes recommendations on employee hire, promotion, compensation, and disciplinary action. This position is expected to consult with Managers on issues that become highly escalated or may have substantial impact on business or operations.

 

Interactions: 

 

Internally, the Supervisor Fulfillment interacts with co-workers from all areas of the company including scheduling, shipping, customer service, production, management, operations, human resources, staffing agency employees and representatives, etc. The Supervisor Fulfillment is expected to develop solid working relationships with these departments to promote customer service and ensure positive communication efforts.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Education equivalent to a High School diploma required.  Associates degree or college coursework preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience, preferably in fulfillment/pick and pack operation.
  • Strong working knowledge of PC applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong active listening, evaluating, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate multiple variables (i.e., number of people, type of project, line set-up/complexity, people’s skill level, etc.) and make changes to create savings and efficiencies to meet goals.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Able to professionally and soundly deal with challenges in a diverse working environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and skill in sound prioritization.
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Able to hold team members accountable for both positive behaviors and for areas of opportunities.
  • Previous experience working in a team environment preferred, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing among co-workers.
