Flexco, a leading global manufacturer, is seeking a Welder & Machine Operator to work 2nd Shift in our air-conditioned facility. The chosen candidate will be responsible for MIG/TIG welding and operating a production machine.

The hours will be: Mon-Thurs 5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Friday 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Welder & Machine Operator – 2^nd Shift

Grand Rapids

2^nd shift Welder/Machine operators at Flexco can expect a starting hourly compensation of around $24.00, or more, depending on experience. 

Internal employees are expected to notify their current manger before applying.

What you will need:

• A high school diploma
• 2+ year technical degree is a plus
• 3+ years of experience in MIG and/or TIG welding.
• Blueprint reading.
• Must be able to work with micrometers, calipers, height indicators and other measuring equipment. 

• Basic Computer Skills.  Basic competency of MS Office or related products.

• The ability to:

• • Obtain a forklift license
  • Obtain an overhead crane license
  • Lift 50 lbs. floor to waist
  • Stand all day
  • Push/ Pull maximum of 100 lbs. 100 ft.
  • Trunk Rotation 45 degrees from midline both directions
  • Reach less than 18 inches from midline both directions

What you will be doing:

• The variety of applications requires an ability to plan, layout and perform diversified work, which may be characterized as short run production or job shop (custom work).
• Includes high pressure and code welding or other work involving critical safety and load requirements or welding where appearance is critical.
• Works from more complex specifications, drawings, prints and welding symbols.
• MIG and TIG Welding
• Program, Edit and Run Robotic Welder and programs.
• Set up and run plasma cutter.
• Set up and operate all machinery in machine shop.
• Perform daily/weekly maintenance on production machines.
• Responsible for inventory accuracy and daily cycle counting.
• Assist with product assemblies as needed.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and Suggestion System as required.  Maintain high level of WPO (Workplace Organization).
