Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Manufacturing Technician to join our Salt Lake City manufacturing team. The qualified candidate will perform Manufacturing operations that include electronic and mechanical assembly, production test, and materials functions to achieve high-quality, efficient, and economical production. This is a full-time position. 

  • Assembles and programs “Image Generator” computer systems for use in planetariums and Cosm CX System LED dome venues.  This involves placing components in a rack, wiring them together, and loading operating systems and specific Cosm software and configuring the same, for our customers.
  • Stages systems for testing, and final quality checks.  Assists with preparations for shipping systems to end user.
  • Helps with procurement functions including supply line analysis, planning, and purchasing.
  • Performs and helps with distribution function including shipping, receiving, and stores.
  • Interfaces with engineering and project managers in planning for transition products from development to manufacturing.  Addresses manufacturability, reliability, testability, cost, time-to-production, and materials issues.  Coordinates maintenance of timely and accurate bills of material, product specifications, and supporting documentation.  Develops and incorporates manufacturing standards and cost-efficient processes and technologies into new product designs.
  • Ensures manufacturing compliance with Cosm’s quality standards.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Regularly communicates problems and improvement opportunities to immediate supervisor.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and mask if required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objectives of manufacturing.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of electronics industry manufacturing experience.
  • Highly developed computer skills with ERP systems, spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools. 
  • Ability to interact effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and management personnel in all aspects of building and testing Company products.
  • Possess a demonstrated capability to work with and properly support the Business Units for all aspects of the Manufacturing process.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced work environment to achieve individual and team results.
  • Ability to complete all work to 100% specification.
  • Self-motivation, focus and attention to detail are required.

 Preferred:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical school a plus
  • Communicate effectively with team and customers.
  • Work independently with moderate supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Working Conditions:

  • Employee will work in the manufacturing area, shipping and receiving area (inside and outside)
  • Ability to work in different climates, such as hot/humid or cold, for an entire shift.
