Summary of Job

 

Responsible for monitoring the operation of assigned machine(s) ensuring product adheres to company standard of safety, quality, and throughput.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 

  • Start up and shut down the machine properly, to ensure the production of the highest quality finished product
  • Set up and operate the equipment for various products
  • Safely and efficiently produce product on assigned production area
  • Housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment.
  • Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods. Promptly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintains appropriate level of production supplies/ materials as required, to ensure next shift operators incur minimal downtime.
  • Continuously monitor machine operation to ensure accurate product measurements and quality are being maintained.
  • Meets or exceeds production rates, minimize waste levels and meets all customer requirements.
  • Sets up and adjusts rewinders.
  • Neatly palletizes skids with finished product.
  • Enters production reporting data into machine computer accurately.
  • Separates scrap into appropriate film-type gaylord.
  • Operates core cutting machine, vacuum lift, and pallet jack.
  • Assist on or operate other converting or manufacturing equipment and perform preventative maintenance within the plant as assigned
  • Acquires knowledge/ skills of Set-up Technicians to better assist and troubleshoot when needed.

  • Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Attends meetings and completes safety trainings as required.

  • Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.
  • Read a tape measure to 1/32”
  • Must be able to communicate (read and write) in English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

Physical Characteristics

 

  • Repetitive use of wrist, hands, and fingers.
  • Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%.
  • Frequent bending and some kneeling.
  • Frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 30-50 lbs.).
  • Occasional bending and twisting.
  • Occasional reaching.
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.

 

Position Type

 

  • Full time
  • Shift work 8 hours
  • Overtime expected per business demand

 

Education and Experience

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred

 

Compensation

 

  • The pay range for this position is $18/hr. to $19.50/hr. The Company offers paid vacation time, paid sick leave, medical, dental and vision plans as well as a 401(k) with employer match.
