SUMMARY

Responsible for collaborating with the Employee Benefits sales and service team on the development and execution of client-centered strategies. Manages a book of business and directs/contributes to the work of a multi-disciplined service team. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Exhibits proven competence in all Account Manager duties and knowledge requirements;

•    Collaborates with a mentor from the sales and service team to manage an assigned book-of-business;

•    Comprehends and communicates all aspects of the renewal process to clients on all lines of coverage (medical through ancillary), including marketed analytics;

•    Assists the sales and service team in the development of multi-year strategic plans for clients;

•    Assists the sales and service team with client financials, and renewal negotiations;

•    Prepares and delivers client renewal presentations and employee enrollment meetings;

•    Actively participates in the team mentorship program;

•    Acts as an Affordable Care Act (ACA) subject matter expert;

•    Handles the collection of fees, and the reconciliation and resolution of any outstanding balances within 60 days of the invoicing date;

•    Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);

•    Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience  

Seven (7) or more years of related work experience 

Prior experience in a Benefit Analyst or similar role preferred

Valid insurance license

Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal

 


SKILLS

Knowledge of Employee Benefits insurance, renewal decision life cycle, and insured group marketing analytics

Knowledge of self-insurance and alternative funding arrangements

Knowledge of Employee Benefits products and benefit administration

Good verbal and written communication skills 

Good problem solving and time management skills

Excellent customer service skills

Good presentation skills and ability to conduct open enrollment meetings

Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork

Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
