SUMMARY
 
Responsible for monitoring, tracking, analyzing, and summarizing proposed and existing federal, state, and municipal employee leave provisions, including paid family medical leave and paid sick leave. Develops, reviews, and provides ongoing consulting support to clients on leave policy implementation and application including drafting policies and/or reviewing existing client policies. Creates and manages educational content for internal Alliant staff, prepares and presents educational content via webinar, and distributes to clients and Alliant account teams. Develops marketing materials for client services and support on federal, state, and municipal leave laws.   


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors, tracks, and prepares written legislative updates on employer leave law proposals on federal, state, and municipal level. 

Drafts and/or reviews existing employer leave law policies for federal, state, and municipal leave law compliance.  

Provides practical guidance to employers on implementation and application of various leave law provisions. 

Provides educational support to internal account teams and sales, and marketing support to Alliant sales professionals on the developing landscape of employee leave laws.  

Writes leave law content appropriate for various social media platforms.

Responsible for primary leave law research and leave support platform. 

Engages daily with Alliant Employee Benefits Compliance Consultants on the impact of employee leaves on group health plan benefits. 

Attends client and prospect meetings as appropriate.

Develops standard responses to requests for proposals for Alliant Employee Benefits leave support services. 

Develops monthly topics for direct client distribution and across Alliant content mediums.

Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).

Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree required, Juris Doctor desired

Three (3) or more years related work experience; specifically advising clients and developing policies related to leaves

Law firm experience preferred  


SKILLS

Command of employee leave laws that includes a practical and in depth understanding

General understanding of group health plan benefits and the interaction between the provision of benefits and employee leave law provisions

Understanding of regulatory agencies and processes that impact employee leave laws

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate complex topics in a practical way

Ability to work positively and cohesively across disciplines and areas of expertise 

Excellent problem solving, organizational, and prioritization skills

Ability to meet deadlines
