SUMMARY 

Responsible for defining data elements and establishes policies and procedures related to the collection and accuracy of data, and performs tests on data systems. Ensures sufficient data quality is maintained so that the data can effectively support the business process.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Coordinates with senior management to identify appropriate data quality metrics/thresholds for systems used across the Property & Casualty division.
  • Responsible for data quality and data accuracy across all group delivery initiatives by establishing appropriate auditing/accountability protocols.
  • Assists in the creation, validation, maintenance and reporting of sales funnel data within the CRM system (Salesforce.com), providing support and training to internal users.
  • Ensures appropriate integration of data for acquired entities.
  • Ensures appropriate reports are available so that data can be leveraged, with appropriate security, across the organization.
  • Escalates individual and broad-based data quality issues to senior management, as appropriate.
  • Tracks and routinely reports in trends on data quality.
  • Assists in the development and delivery of training related to compliance with data standards.
  • Responsible for data analysis, data profiling, data modeling, and data mapping capabilities.
  • Accountable for the assessment, delivery, quality, accuracy, and tracking of any production data fixes.
  • Accountable for the performance, quality, and alignment to requirements for all data query design and development.
  • Updates all Salesforce implementations with the latest releases as per company requirements.
  • Responsible for defining standards and best practices for data analysis, modeling, and queries.
  • Responsible for understanding end-to-end data flows and identifying data dependencies in support of delivery, release, and change management.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of data dictionary that is aligned to data assets and the business glossary for group responsible for the definition and maintenance of group's data landscape including overlays with the technology landscape, end-to-end data flows/transformations and data lineage.
  • Partners with others in systems / data management to ensure solutions adhere to the organization’s data principles and guidelines.
  • Partners with others in test data management and the creation of a reusable test data repository.
  • Responsible for ensuring data from acquisitions is appropriately integrated with Alliant systems with sufficient data quality.
  • Responsible for solving data related issues and communicating resolutions with other solution domains.
  • Provides support to special projects.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Five (5) or more years of related work experience with data governance, architecture, and design aspects of various DBMS and reporting

Five (5) or more years of experience working within a CRM, preferably Salesforce

Experience with data modeling and test data management tools

Insurance industry experience

SKILLS

Strong knowledge of data architecture principles and design aspects of various DBMS and reporting concepts

Strong knowledge of Content Management Systems, preferably Salesforce

Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint and Visio

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent problem solving and time management skills

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve specific goals and objectives
