ABOUT THE ROLE

The Global Product Manager for the Kaye Monitoring product line reporting to the General Manager, will interface regularly with global Engineering, Sales, and Business Leadership to position Amphenol Kaye as the leading Thermal Validation and Monitoring instrumentation provider for the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Markets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Market and customer trends –

  • Understand sensing market trends as it relates to Pharmaceutical, BioTech, LifeSciences, Medical, and food (e.g. regulatory, R&D, Expansion, M&A, Drug Application developments, etc.) and the impact to OEMs, the broader value chain including clients in GxP required industry segments of Pharma, Food, - Biotech in the regions
  • Proven industrial technical understanding and expertise in instrumentation, process automation and validation related to temperature, RH and environmental monitoring and control
  • Knowledge and experience in IT (Windows/Linux, On-premises/Cloud) and industrial automation, familiar with typical SCADA system and its application system such as building management system, environment monitoring system are highly desirable
  • Customer needs - engage OEMs, tiers, Service providers, and channel partners to understand needs, adoption drivers and purchasing criteria and behavior to formulate growth plan
  • Market insight - evaluate applications across market and sub-segments (Pharmaceutical, BioTech, Medical) as it relates to Thermal validation and Monitoring and determine market TAM and SAM size and share position, adoption rates, Trends and growth potential across segments.
  • Segmentation - develop OEM, tier and channel partner segmentation and define adoption drivers and a value proposition for each segment. Identify new adjacency opportunities
  • Competition & positioning - analyze the competitor landscape, benchmarking, value proposition, monitor potential entrants and establish a clear sensing positioning strategy across the global market
  • Data Hosting Services: Develop and support a business model to provide data as an offering – create models of leasing/purchase-lease /hosting only models.
  • Managing of the development of Validation Life Cycle Documents (IQ, OQ, VMP, PQ) and productizing the execution of the mapping service.
  • Product strategy and MGPP - define sensing capability requirements and work with engineering and Sales teams to develop a differentiated and technically feasible product strategy in accordance with the established positioning and new trends and application specific design needs such as wireless connectivity and Iot.
  • Product pricing-Support and manage pricing and selling strategies and provide profitability analysis for products across market segments and channels. Analyze advantages to win new business at higher than market and competitive price
  • Prioritization-Alignment of monthly, quarterly, and yearly activities with the strategic direction of the product line. Evaluate pipeline to ensure the right opportunities are filling the funnel; maximize conversion and ROI of engineering resources.
  • Sales channel support - Work closely with the sales organization to support commercial engagement, including proposals, quotes, negotiation, etc.
  • Contract review- First pass business compliancy review. (NDA, Supplier agreement, T&C’s, purchasing agreements, etc.)
  • Provide Business updates- monthly, quarterly, annual and 3-year financial forecasts. Other activities as assigned by the Global Product Line Manager
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
  • Direct Industry experience in Pharmaceutical and BioTech
  • Domestic and Global Travel as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. degree in engineering, business management or related field;
  • 10+ years of technical Product development and marketing or related experience with demonstrated success driving profitable revenue growth. 
  •  Marketing analytical skills and ability to prepare strategic product line roadmaps and growth plans and relevant PowerPoint presentations.
  • Experience with commercial Contract negotiations.
  • Working knowledge of market and application in Pharmaceutical and BioTech.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional global environment.
  • Goal oriented, focused on making a significant impact in a high growth environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication - fluent in English (other foreign languages a plus).
  • Energetic, collaborative and autonomous.
