Job Summary

The Parts Cleaner is responsible for removing and cleaning metal and fabricated parts for processing and recycling using specialized cleaning solutions, equipment, and machinery. The ideal candidate will maintain cleanliness in the work area, ensure consistency in cleaning solutions, and manage part quantities effectively.

Job Responsibilities

  • Clean excess oil from soiled parts and scrap metal using centrifuges.
  • Utilize the Durr Echo Cleaning System to clean and dry soiled parts and scrap metal.
  • Count parts accurately to ensure quantity control and proper inventory management.
  • Clean floors, tables, drip pans, and machinery to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Monitor and mix cleaning solution tanks to maintain proper consistency for effective cleaning.
  • Visually inspect parts for excess debris
  • Disposition parts to different departments for further processing
  • Protect themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or safety coordinator.
  • Must work with the EHS department to ensure all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met; OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA and Amphenol sustainability practices.
  • Must work with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 months experience or training
  • Passage of appropriate testing to advance in ABC certification program.

Physical:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stooping, twist, reach, reach overhead.
  • Must be able to lift to 50lbs. frequently.

Shift: 2nd (Monday-Friday, 2:30am-11:0pm)

Knowledge:

English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Abilities:

Arm-Hand Steadiness — The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.

Control Precision — The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.

Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Multi-limb Coordination — The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.

Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

 

Oral Comprehension — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

 

Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
