Overview/Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will collaborate closely with corporate leadership to offer strategic guidance and leadership on a wide range of human resource matters, including sensitive and highly confidential issues. The role involves overseeing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and managing special projects as needed. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for the full cycle of recruiting, onboarding, and facilitating human resources processes in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the resolution of employee relations issues, administering progressive discipline, and implementing performance improvement plans while monitoring progress.
- Serve as a trusted consultant to team members and managers, ensuring adherence to company policies and labor laws.
- Provide expert advice, counsel, and interpretation to managers and team members on HR programs, policies, and a variety of organizational and employee performance matters.
- Respond promptly to corporate leaders and team members, addressing HR-related inquiries and needs.
- Conduct and document thorough investigations into workplace complaints, including interviews with employees and managers.
- Analyze investigation notes to derive valid conclusions, formulate recommendations, and establish plans of action.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and summaries of findings for management review.
- Manage the pre-employment and onboarding process, ensuring an efficient and smooth experience for both candidates and new hires.
- Facilitate New Staff Orientation for corporate employees, ensuring new team members are integrated effectively.
- Process terminations, identify trends in team member relations issues, report findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to employee matters.
- Represent the organization in unemployment proceedings as needed.
- Handle DocuSign workflows related to employment documentation, including offer letters.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including posting positions, conducting background checks, sending job descriptions, and onboarding new hires.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the organization's mission and vision.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required; a degree in Human Resources is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in employee relations is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, with comprehensive knowledge of compliance with federal and state regulations.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP) is preferred but not required.
- Experience with HR software platforms, such as Ultimate Software, Dayforce and iCIMS, is a plus.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
