  • Position Summary and Responsibilities: (Please note this is not an IT department. You will be installing equipment in the tractors)

    The principal purpose of this position is the maintenance of onboard computer assets, tracking and installation of such assets, and the coordination and conducting of training on the use of such assets as required. Installing and maintaining all truck and trailer onboard computer systems, make ready new equipment and decommission units going out of service.

    • Must have strong communication and inventory skills.
    • Immediately communicate problems with Supervisor.
    • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
    • Perform duties by following the Company’s safety standards
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems.

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

    • Starting Pay $21.65
    • Must be able to work M-F 10:00am-6:30pm during training. Schedule will change after training.
    • Minimum five years related mechanic experience/and or training required
    • Minimum two years Thermo King or Carrier refrigeration experience/and or training required
    • EPA 608 & R-12 licenses or ability to obtain licenses.
    • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems.
    • Must be able to communicate with supervisors and shop associates.
    • Must be able to follow instructions and be a self-starter.
    • Must be capable of working independently with a minimum amount of supervision.
    • Material handling equipment experience is a plus since a fork lift is used on occasion.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be willing to work odd hours and shift work (nights).
    • Must be able to walk extensively
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time usually for 8-10 hours
    • Must be able to bend at the waist; stoop to reach and squat to lift heavy items in a proper manner and operate lift assisting devices.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
    •  Frequently required to sit, stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
    • Occasionally required to climb or balance.
    • Must be able to lift 30-60 lbs repetitively and heavier items weighing up to 100 lbs occasionally and frequently push or pull three-hundred (300) pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs.
    • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
