Job Overview:

The Business Development Leader plays a key role in developing the right suite of capabilities and strategies to strengthen and grow Cooper’s portfolio of services for our midstream customers. We have a strong OEM portfolio already which constitutes our core business – now we intend to expand our scope by offering aftermarket services for other OEMs in this segment. This role requires subject matter expertise of the market, and the essential compression equipment used, understand customers’ pain points and maintenance challenges, and interact with and coordinate a multi-disciplinary internal team (engineering, sales, marketing, finance, etc.) to deliver on the growth strategy.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Build a roadmap and clear strategy to build aftermarket offerings for our midstream customers focusing on other OEMs using Cooper’s existing network and relationships
  • Conduct a gap analysis of as-is vs. desired future state of our capabilities, and develop an action plan with a multidisciplinary task force to close the gap
  • Identify innovations and technology changes that can enhance our service offerings, and develop business cases to allocate budget and assign resources
  • Set annual targets for this segment in collaboration with VP Sales and VP Regions
  • Partner with key account managers and regional VPs to engage with their “Top 20” customers; user group meetings, trade shows, lunch-‘n’-learn events, et al., to gather customer insights.
  • Act as the voice of the customer leveraging their feedback to inform product development decisions.
  • Travel is expected to be 25%-35%; leverage hybrid/online meetings in alignment with the key account managers and customers

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering, product development, and /or sales origination within the midstream compression space.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred; minimum high-school diploma or GED with 5 to 10 years sales experience required
  • Strong reciprocating engine and compressor experience
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Commitment to safety, customer service quality and to work in team-oriented    environment
