Job Title: E-Commerce Manager

 

Salary Range: $65,000-71,000


About the Position

The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and success of the department by providing leadership and direction to staff and ensuring that production goals and quality standards are achieved. The role includes fostering a positive work environment and delivering an excellent customer service experience. The manager will develop and execute strategies to drive sales and net revenue and must be flexible in overseeing more than one location.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

  • Ensure smooth and consistent operations in processing, listing, warehousing, and shipping.
  • Manage staff and resources to meet sales and expense goals.
  • Coach and guide employees to provide excellent customer service, aligning the team with departmental goals.
  • Improve and manage systems for selling and shipping.
  • Oversee E-commerce inventory management systems.
  • Stay competitive in the marketplace by keeping up with online trends.
  • Ensure efficient execution of all department administrative functions.
  • Collaborate with the E-Commerce Director on business forecasting and budgeting.
  • Accurately report sales and expenses, and control expenses.
  • Create and analyze reports to ensure all key performance indicators (KPI) are met or exceeded.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with other departments such as Donations, Risk/Safety, Asset Protection, Retail Operations, etc.
  • Promote a safety culture by enforcing safe work practices, providing training on safety requirements, and reporting potential hazards or accidents.
  • Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring employee performance and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Partner with People Relations as needed and appropriate.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum High School diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred or have equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in e-commerce management, preferably within a retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • Proven track record of driving online sales growth and improving customer experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to motivate people, instill accountability, and achieve results.

 

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

  • Must have valid Washington Driver’s license and proof of insurance along with good driving record.

Computer/Technology Skills:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Excellent computer skills, including rapid and accurate keyboarding.
  • Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.

 

Physical Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry 35-40 pounds; have developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Ability to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment: Office and outside environments where temperature and conditions vary, exposure to dust. This position requires regular travel to stores, offsite meetings and events. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
