The Cook, Golf Club will be responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry stations and other areas of the kitchen. 

  

Position Responsibilities 

  • Set up station according to country club guidelines
  • Organize and prep all items for a variety of menus and workstations
  • Handle the production of hot and cold food items for menu service and banquets
  • Assist Chef with supervision of employees, sanitation, safety, menu planning, purchasing and service production activities
  • Maintain high standards of quality, cost and presentation of food
  • High sense of urgency to complete daily meal production
  • Passionate about food, presentation and quality
  • Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the Executive Chef
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift
  • Cleans and maintains station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills
  • Ability to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk in coolers and all storage areas
  • Collaborate with marketing to establish marketing plans which will impact and drive business
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
  • Other duties as assigned  

Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

  • Culinary School graduate with some additional college coursework completed preferred
  • Culinary ability to plan, prepare basic sauces, soups, salads and dishes with minimum supervision
  • 5+ years of industry and culinary management experience
  • Experience with menu production, menu creating and banquets
  • Experience with controlling food and labor costs
  • Knowledge of all applicable health, sanitation and licensing ordinances
  • Professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Solid understanding of a la carte and banquet revenue generation.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge
  • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
  • A superior work ethic
  • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues  

Preferred Skills 

  • Baking knowledge 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
  • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
