Position Summary 

 

To provide friendly, responsive and exceptional guest service to ensure the guests of Luna Grill will become “Raving Fans.   

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensures the guest has a great experience by following standards, the sequence of service, and always having guest awareness
  • Informs guest(s) of LTO’s and menu changes and makes recommendations accordingly. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the brand and menu items by answering questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services 
  • Takes guest’s food orders and handles cash and credit transactions according to standards. 
  • Works with kitchen team to meet any special requirements for ingredients and preparation of food 
  • Delivers food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner 
  • Performs side work at the start and end of each shift as required and gets checked out of position by MOD 
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and mise en place in the service area, dining room and restrooms 
  • Monitors and observe guest’s dining experienceEnsure guests are satisfied with the food and serviceRespond promptly and courteously to any requests 
  • Thanks guest for their visit and invite them to return 
  • Attends all schedule team member meetings/training and brings suggestions for improvements 
  • Clocks in and out of the restaurant in a timely manner 
  • Team Members must adhere to Rest & Meal Policy 
  • Takes necessary meal and rest breaks accordingly  
  • Other duties as assigned 
 
 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Possess and instill high quality standards for production and guest service.
  • Detail oriented, organized and efficient. Safety-minded. Effective communication skills.
  • Courteous, friendly, and professional mannerTrustworthy and reliable. Possess strong basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, write) in the primary language of the work location. 

 

Education/Experience Requirements 

 

Restaurant experience preferred but not requiredCash handling experience a plus. 

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDSStands/walks continuously (up to 5 hours) through the shiftFrequent  bending, bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat, use hands, reaching or grasping with hands and arms, and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.   Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays.  

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENTMust comply with Company’s Appearance and Dress Code standard as set forth in the Team Member HandbookWorks primarily indoors in temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lighted environmentMay make trips to kitchen, where air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foodsKitchen floors are uneven, and may be slippery from moisture and grease.
