SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT SPECIALIST | JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

SUMMARY 

At Magnolia, the Social Media Content Specialist is responsible for supporting the Social Media team by creating engaging content to be used across all channels for their assigned brand handles. This position captures visual content and maintains content schedules while staying informed about trends. This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Social Media Manager, Brand and has no supervisory responsibilities  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop a schedule and calendar for updates, archiving, and ongoing production of content in alignment with team goals and objectives* 
  • Coordinate with internal teams on content creation needs in support of Magnolia launches and campaigns* 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize content creation and maximize return on investment 
  • Lead the content ideation process to drive engagement and grow exposure for Magnolia brands and handles 
  • Prepare and develop social media content to support and enhance Magnolia's brand* 
  • Create content that aligns with performance reporting findings across all social media platforms* 
  • Stay on top of social media trends and platforms to provide new and innovative recommendations* 
  • Utilize project management software to track all projects and manage through completion 
  • Capture videos and photographs of events, the Silos grounds, and other relevant content sources as needed 
  • Assist with social community management as needed 
  • Assist in managing creative asset library  
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms, trends, and creating content specific to each social platform (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube) required. Proficiency in social media reporting and analytics and Premiere Pro preferred. 

 

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university preferred 
  • 2-4 years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 
  • Portfolio required 
  • Required to work all Magnolia events; must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
