PHOTOGRAPHER | JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
At Magnolia, the Photographer is responsible for capturing intentional and visually impactful photography assets for retail marketing campaigns and Ecommerce that inspire guests to shop at Magnolia.com and brick and mortar locations. This position works from the photography studio and Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Art Director, Photography and has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the creation of intentional and visually impactful photography assets for retail marketing campaigns and Ecommerce that inspire guests to shop at Magnolia.com and brick and mortar locations*
- Collaborate with Art Director, Photography to capture visually compelling and inspiring room scenes, in-studio setups, and PDP assets that are of the highest quality, support buying strategies, and represent the brand’s design aesthetic*
- Provide on-site lighting, camera framing, and photo capture for assigned room scene photoshoots, ensuring scenes represent the agreed upon art direction and support shot lists*
- Provide on-set lighting, camera framing, and photo capture for assigned PDP photoshoots, ensuring assets support unique product details, demonstrate product usage, and convey a sense of scale*
- Execute high-quality photo finishing and retouching, according to the photo approval process and timeline*
- Light, frame, and shoot location and in-studio photography for brand content used on the blog, as needed
- Maintain a consistent and comprehensive awareness of upcoming photoshoots, status of pre-production planning and development timelines
- Collaborate with team members to prepare, initiate, and wrap photoshoots according to established timelines, with supervision
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of photography equipment
- Assist in ensuring photography execution supports the brand’s values, purpose, voice, and visual aesthetic
- Interpret briefs and create solutions that are on-brand with supervision
- Utilize project management software and digital tools to streamline operations, track projects, and facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among team members
- Support the Photography Operations team in file management best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Hard skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive preferred. Proficiency in Capture One, Photoshop, and Lightroom required. Strong professional photo editing and retouching skills required.
ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university preferred
- 2-4 years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Experience professionally photographing on-location and in-studio required
- Portfolio required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
