Magnolia Press - Crew Leader

CREW LEADER | JOB DESCRIPTION 

SUMMARY 

At Magnolia, the Crew Leader is responsible for maintaining the Magnolia standard on the sales floor while supervising and assisting the Baristas to provide exemplary guest service. The Crew Leader ensures that Baristas deliver top notch guest experiences and product education. This position works from Magnolia Press in Waco, Texas. It reports to the General Manager and has supervisory responsibilities. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Uphold Magnolia’s manifesto and values
• Provide feedback on employee performance
• Assess guest needs and provide assistance and information on Magnolia products
• Promote and maintain a safe working and shopping environment
• Prepare, steam, and serve hot and iced made-to-order beverages
• Routinely taste and monitor food products to ensure quality and consistency
• Knowledgeable about Magnolia brand, products, and current menu items
• Perform opening and closing duties
• Reconcile cash drawers, prepare new drawers and deposits, and fulfill change requests
• Provide exceptional leadership to employees
• Learn new procedures and processes quickly in order to teach others
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS  

• Hard skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
• Soft skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative; ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude to ensure excellent guest service; flexibility and positive reaction to change; strong organizational and follow-through skills
• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Experience: 2-3+ years of hospitality experience preferred
• Special training or licenses/certifications: Texas Food Manager Certification required
• General availability: Must be available to work flexible hours to help meet business needs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The employee routinely uses sinks, ovens, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
