Manager – Investor relations

POSITION PURPOSE:  Raise capital for MCR’s funds and SPVs. Manage investor communication and relationships.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Investor Prospecting and Fund Marketing
    1. Identify prospective investors and build a broad pipeline that spans consultants, pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, UHNIs, insurance companies, RIAs, sovereign wealth funds and fund of funds.
    2. Manage the marketing pipeline from lead generation through capital commitment.
    3. Independently handle introductory and screening calls with prospects.
  2. Strategic Communication
    1. Create and maintain fund marketing collaterals – presentations, DDQ, PPM
    2. Work across functions and with MCR’s leadership team generate periodic investor communication – fund updates, newsletters, press releases.
    3. Craft effective and compelling messages that promote MCR’s value proposition; strategic and competitive advantages that include operating efficiency, team, performance, relationships, infrastructure, and processes; and MCR’s differentiated investment strategy.
  3. Relationship Management
      1. Work effectively across functions to foster strong relationships in a collaborative team environment.
      2. Solutions mindset: Respond to challenging conversations and situations in an articulate, balanced, compassionate, and persuasive manner.
      3. Enjoy working with others: Natural predisposition to connect and build strong relationships.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1.    Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong understanding of finance, economics and investing.
    2.    Outgoing personality with an aptitude for interfacing with institutions and high net-worth individuals.    
    3.    An ability to execute sales and marketing processes under supervision and direction. 
    4.    An ability to manage multiple tasks, and coordinate with other teams to successfully deliver on objectives, often under challenging but achievable deadlines.
    5.    Bachelors degree
    6.    3-5 years of related experience (investor relations, consulting or similar client facing roles)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

1.    Detail oriented with excellent MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills
2.    MBA or Masters in Finance or Economics
3.    CFA or CAIA certifications
4.    Experience raising capital for a private fund – especially real estate funds
5.    Expertise with CRM, investor portal and accounting systems.
