Motivate is looking to hire Assembly Technicians to play a critical role in the deployment of new stations for the bikeshare system at our Long Island City location.
About the Role
- Assemble station components and deploy bikeshare docking stations
- Operate a forklift and other heavy machinery, tools, and equipment
- Load, move, and unload station components and materials
- Test station functionality, performing basic diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, station maintenance work, and minor repairs
- Maintain clear and consistent communications with dispatch and document completed work tasks thoroughly in a timely manner
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to all workplace policies
About You
- You have previous experience in construction, commercial project and repair work, repair of electronic components and equipment, or related experience
- You enjoy working in different settings, including a warehouse environment, as well as being out and about in the city in various weather conditions and urban areas
- You are comfortable driving in a busy urban environment and have a working knowledge the street layout and geography, with a current driver’s license and a clear driving record
- You are a strong communicator, both written and verbally, and work well in a team
- You have experience using a forklift and/or other heavy machinery, as well as hand and power tools
- You can lift to 75 pounds and stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
