TRAINING PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The training program for BAP is a well-organized 12-month journey which will consist of in-depth learning regarding Product Management, Customer Service, Product Coordination, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Logistics, Credit, Quality and Regulatory. Sales trainees will also spend extended time working as inside sales reps where they will manage new leads, quotes, small order management. There will also be supplier and 3rd-party managed technical product training throughout the course.


Trainees will be shadowing sellers on customer sales calls, technical service visits and with product management interfacing with vendors and directing efforts within BAP. This includes blocks of time at our manufacturing plants, distribution facilities, vendor visits and customer visits requiring 20% travel.  Upon successful completion of our training program the trainee will be assigned to an outside sales position.  

 

Tied in with both phases of training:

  • Inside/outside department shadowing.
  • One on one teaching-training-developing by Regional Sales Manager, bi-weekly updates on expectations of week and summarize week.
  • Attend internal department meetings and functions. To include Vendor visits and various department training seminars.

Essential Functions:

  • Attend vendor plant tours for training, such as Sabic, BASF, Total and Covestro.
  • Participate in regional meetings, industry trade shows for Medical, Automotive and Packaging Markets.

Job Expectations:

  • Sales trainees will be expected to learn BAP processes, and grow the skills necessary to be an effective Account Manager
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of core operations processes – from purchasing and inventorying material, to selling and collecting payment.
  • Attend and absorb information for technical material properties, be able to assemble and present on products and features independently to demonstrate learning
  • While working as an inside sales rep, trainees are expected to learn and execute the sales processes, manage lead, opportunity and quote data within the provided systems and to ultimately show the ability to win new business with customers.

 

 

Candidate Characteristics and Qualities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University
  • Work Ethic / Maturity / Professionalism / Positive Attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to travel to Orlando, Florida and throughout the United States for trainings
  • Problem Solving and Organizational Skills
