CDL B Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

The successful candidate for this position will have a CDL B license and previous experience working around an asphalt milling machine and milling clean up equipment to remove asphalt pavement. They must also have a heavy focus on safety excellence.

• CDL Class B
• Complete labor tasks around heavy-duty equipment. 
• Operate broom, skid steer, and Dump Truck.
• Experience operating clean up equipment and related heavy equipment safely and appropriately for varied conditions and situations.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks, cleaning, greasing, changing out hydro lines, bucket blade swaps, etc. Must keep inside and outside of the assigned machines cleaned.
• Operate equipment safety for all personnel on the job site.
• Communicate clearly with crew-members to work as a team.
• Work with the team to provide a fully prepared site for the paving crew.
• Display the willingness to provide the best customer service possible.

Wages starting at $18/hr. for entry level laborers. Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with highway construction experience.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B
• At least 1 year of previous backhoe experience is preferred or any heavy equipment. 
• General and applied knowledge of the paving process and proper procedures for quality finished work.
• Must be dependable and show up for all assigned shifts.
• Able and willing to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold for extended shifts.
• Willing to work days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
• CDL-A while not required is a definite plus.
• DOT Physical Required
• Must have valid drivers license and clean driving record.
