Shop Mechanic Helper - Full Time

Job Schedule: Full Time. Day Shift. Monday Through Friday. 8am - 430pm. Schedule Subject to Change, Based on Business Needs.

Job Summary:  

Sweeping Corp of America seeking a mechanically inclined Shop Helper. This is a career entry level job that will support mechanical technicians by retrieving parts for repair and other duties as assigned. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Complete preventative maintenance services per company guidelines
• Perform basic mechanical tasks. Example; change tires, change oil, grease truck.
• Assist senior mechanics with advanced repairs.
• Process and track parts that have been placed on order.  
• Prioritize multiple parts pick‐up and deliveries.  
• Ability to respond to emergency pick‐up and delivery.  
• Pays attention to details and observe safety precautions. 
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.  
• Basic computer skills for placing orders.  
• Able to identify correct parts, based on part number and shelf location.  
• Assist with inventory control.  
• Help technicians as necessary.  
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:   

• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.  
• Prior delivery/driving experience  
• Mechanical aptitude and industry experience required
• Moderate lifting - no greater than 40 lbs.; moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping.  
• No fine manipulation or fine manual dexterity required.  
• Ability to stand for a full shift in addition to walking, climbing stairs and bending as required.  
• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.  
• May be exposed to solvents, chemicals, and refuse.  
• May be exposed to other risks associated with working around machines, tools, and trucks-CDL related
