About the Position
As an Electrical Project Design Engineer, you will play an important role in project teams responsible for performing pre-studies, RFE studies, and project studies/project implementations of strategic important projects at the SSAB facility in Mobile, Alabama. Projects can span from equipment upgrades to infrastructure projects, both greenfield projects as well as revamping and development of existing equipment. Depending on experience, the Electrical Project Design Engineer can either be responsible or co-responsible for the electrical aspects from idea to installation and production takeover.
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in and drive pre studies, RFE studies and projects (planning, execution, and commissioning) with focus on all the electrical aspects of the studies
- Work closely with team members, other departments, and maintenance
- Collaborate with supporting resources from the QTC center in Sweden
- Interact and coordinate with external consultants
- Assist with: defining project scope, implementing project plans, managing project risks, and monitoring project progress
About You
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Prior experience working in project-based settings
- Skilled in working with drawing programs (CAD, SolidWorks or similar software)
- Skilled in creating and reading layouts (understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings, layouts and schematics)
- Preferred: MS Project and SAP
