Data Warehouse Developer Analyst
Position Purpose
The Data Warehouse and Reporting Developer analysts primary role is to develop, test and implement database programs, reports and cubes as assigned by the Data Architect/Manager. The secondary role is to assist with the planning, execution, and monitoring of data flow between databases servers, and troubleshooting of all activities relating to a variety of Data Warehouse processes. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and data integration experience are critical to successful performance.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the design of data systems in collaboration with the data architecture manager, architects, analysts, application developers, project managers and system owners.
- Develop, test, implement and maintain Data Warehouse/BI components including but not limited to:
- Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) Packages
- Views, Stored Procedures, Functions
- Database Schema Changes (under direction of Data Architect/Manager)
Report and Cube Development/Maintenance
- Monitor SQL job flows providing support when required on a rotational basis (after hours).
- Assist in the planning and testing of database refreshes and upgrades with the DBA.
- Create test processes in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
- Liaise with source system teams and end users to address data related issues.
- Build relationships with IT and user teams to gain an understanding of different data requirements and functionality.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:
- Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science or computer engineering.
Required Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience with project requirements analysis, technical requirements, business process mapping and data source to target mapping in a data warehouse environment.
- 2-3 years of experience
- Proven SQL experience designing, developing and deploying schema changes, reports, queries, stored procedures and functions (Microsoft SQL 2008 required, 2012 a plus).
- ETL package development and maintenance in a data warehouse/reporting environment.
- Experience developing end user reports and data quality reports/audits.
- Understand SQL Server security principles as they apply to database objects, reports and cubes.
- Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Outstanding writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Ability to troubleshoot data and integration issues.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and quality.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner, and at times high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred:
- Visual Studio (Business Intelligence/Database) and TFS experience including deployment methods and package versioning
- Experience with SSAS cube development (SQL 2012 a plus) and Excel Pivot tables
- Some MDX and DAX exposure is a plus
- Understanding of Tableau or other Business Intelligence toolsets
- Understanding of SAP ERP systems
- Familiarity with MDM principles
- Informatica experience is a plus
- Experience working with global teams and systems is a plus
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DIRECT REPORTS

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Position is full time, non-exempt
- On call availability for deployments, critical break/fix issues, and month end processing as required
- Extended hours including evenings and weekends may be required to meet project deadlines or provide services outside normal operating hours
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally if required for support role
