Full-Time Certified HVAC Tech - Rome, GA

Install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, chilled water fan coil units, rooftop HVAC units, chillers, boilers and electrical components of these systems.

Conduct regular building tours, inspections, identifying needs and executing corrective action and/or coordinating with management and outside contractors.

Performing preventive maintenance on equipment

Possess the ability to be able to work independently and as a team member

Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form.

Following all safety requirements including Lockout/Tagout and use of appropriate PPE

Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.

Keeping appropriate records, including the Refrigerant Inventory and Usage Report

Document all installed equipment: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary.

Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to management what the issue is and what is needed to correct.

Identify and report to management potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services).

Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Facility Services Department.

Receive and complete work orders while maintaining accurate records on material and labor.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate degree or two-year degree from a trade or community college in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration preferred.
- CFC certification (Universal or Type II).
- One to three years experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting HVAC service issues.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
- Excellent customer service skills with a desire to exceed customer expectations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
