First Shift Janitorial Manager

The Operations Manager oversees multiple customer accounts, managing employees who clean and maintain office buildings or other commercial sites.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees.
  • Resolves employee and customer issues.
  • Assigns tasks and inspects completed work for quality.
  • Ensures safety requirements and site-specific training are followed.
  • Manages supply orders and equipment maintenance.
  • Records or supervises employee timekeeping.
  • Performs cleaning tasks when needed.
  • Conducts site inspections and provides monthly reports to customers.
  • Must have business-to-business service experience. A four-year degree and a driver’s license are required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises general cleaners, in compliance with company policies and applicable laws. May manage multiple sites without dedicated site managers.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of supervisory experience or a degree from a 2- or 4-year institution.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and learn basic principles.
  • Ability to read identification numbers and understand volumes.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Certificates/Licenses:
One-year certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities are required, including close vision and focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to infectious waste, and diseases, including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
  • Noise levels are typically moderate.
