General Function

The Sports Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of high quality sports programs designed to meet the needs of the community.

Education/Experience/Training/Certifications

• At minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

•  Prior experience working in a recreational setting is preferred, not required.

•  Prior supervisory/management experience preferred, not required.

•  Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists the Youth & Family Director with hiring and training part-time employees

• Provides direct leadership and supervision to branch sport programs such as supervising evening sports league practices, coaching, and refereeing Saturday sports league games.

• Instructs preschool, school-age, and teen sports classes and clinics year-round. 

• Operates all branch sports programs to meet annual budget that must be approved by the Youth & Family Director

• Assists with the promotion of sports programming and works with branch leadership staff on other promotional opportunities including social media and website.

• Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor

• Ability to plan, lead and participate in all physical activities
