Project Manager II

Flexco, a leading global manufacturer, is seeking a Project Manager to work in our Grand Rapids manufacturing facility. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Leading new product development projects, process improvement projects and other special projects
• Leading cross functional teams of up to 30 people from multiple departments and locations
• Guiding the new product development process from concept to launch
• Managing approximately 7 – 15 projects simultaneously
• Continually improving our project management process

What you will need:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or a related field
• A PMP certification or willingness to obtain the PMP
• Previous experience leading projects and cross-functional teams
• Strong MS Project and SharePoint skills
• Knowledge of other project management methodologies

What you will be doing:

• Develop & maintain project timelines that include milestones & goals based on collaborative input from CFT members.
• Facilitate NPD team meetings & activities in Concept & Feasibility and Design Phases.
• Lead New Product Release (NPR) team activities through Process and Production Phases concluding with Product Launch / Market Release.
• Proactively anticipate, identify, and inform management of obstacles / concerns / risks within assigned projects.  Leverage insight from CFT members to develop and propose solutions to mitigate these challenges accordingly.
• Maintain and improve NPD system and related tools.  Train and mentor others on its purpose and application.  Research new methodologies to continually advance PM and NPD systems & processes at Flexco.
• Facilitate, lead, and/or participate in other large CFT projects as requested.  This may include site improvement initiatives, business process / systems improvements, and other complex objectives.
• Utilize and promote use of appropriate Project Management tools. 
• Lead development and implementation of systems & solutions focused on improving our NPD process in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Participate in non-NPD Continuous Improvement activities and suggestion system as required.
