JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing project related activities for Alliant’s Transactional Risk team, and overseeing risk and insurance due diligence on prospective acquisitions for private equity client firms. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Specialty Mergers & Acquisitions practice, identifying areas for growth and new initiatives, and providing leadership for the team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, and develop M&A due diligence team members.
  • Oversee complex risk and insurance due diligence projects through entire project timeline, managing multiple competing deadlines.
  • Support client in the collection of relevant insurance policies, exposures, claims, financials, and other data relevant to completing a due diligence project, ensuring timely upload to the data room.
  • Review information in the data room and provide feedback regarding adequacy of current and historical insurance programs, enlisting support from internal product line or industry experts as needed.
  • Collect and review relevant claims information, and coordinate review of activity with loss analytics group when appropriate.
  • Conduct thorough contractual review to understand contractual liabilities to be assumed, and determine if there are offsetting assets or insurance protection available to target or acquirer.
  • Act as the lead contact for long-standing client relationships with private equity firms and their portfolio companies across a wide range of industries and geographies, providing consultative M&A due diligence expertise.
  • Coordinate with brokerage/placement group to determine post-close insurance costs of the target company.
  • Review key transaction related documents including purchase and sale agreement, transition service agreement, and any other related agreements.
  • Act as an SME for the Specialty Mergers & Acquisitions practice, identifying areas for growth, designing and implementing new initiatives, and providing leadership for the team.
  • Comply with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enter and maintain complete and accurate information).
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven (7) or more years of related work experience
  • Experience in risk management and/or property & casualty insurance brokerage preferred
