JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for conducting on-site technical risk assessments for external clients to assist in complying with safety legislation and industry practices.  Develops and administers risk management and loss prevention programs for external clients.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site technical risk assessments of operating procedures.
  • Perform record maintenance, consensus standards, and code compliance consulting.
  • Revise and deliver casualty, property, and safety-related training programs to a variety of audiences.
  • Research and report on the most cost effective plans to minimize asset liability.
  • Deliver a consultative approach to clients focused on value based deliverable.
  • Conduct various loss control assessments and prepares loss analysis reports.
  • Develop loss focused service plans.
  • Contribute to technical writing such as the development of fact sheets and newsletter articles.
  • Develop and deliver property conservation and casualty mitigation webinars.
  • Provide client training on a broad base of loss control topics.
  • Develop risk and loss control programs.
  • Perform analytics, basic technical writing, and office support.
  • Conduct client research as requested.
  • Perform client-oriented technical needs assessment and problem solving.
  • Provide senior level risk management consultation services as part of client service team including training, on-site consultation, and deliverable authoring.
  • Communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel, both in writing and with groups and individuals.
  • Perform work at many different locations involving frequent travel (appx. 50%).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eight (8) or more years of related work experience in insurance industry
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Licensed Professional Engineer-NSPE (PE – Fire Protection), Certified Industrial Hygienist, and/or Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE)-NBC preferred
  • ARM  - Certification In Risk Management preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office products

Competent in using and interpreting basic building and fire codes as well as OSHA and other regulatory standards such as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills

Advanced analytical skills

Excellent leadership, problem solving, and time management skills

Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
