RFP Writer Communications Specialist - Employee Benefits

SUMMARY 

 

Responsible for researching and completing RFPs for Alliant employee benefits local office. Additionally, responsible for assisting with researching, writing/creating, designing, and executing communication collateral to support account management and sales efforts. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Writes tailored, persuasive, high-quality responses to RFPs to support the firm’s business development efforts. 

•    Identifies creative ways to convey information visually and collaborates with other team members to create or improve graphics. 

•    Utilizes the firm's tools and databases and collaborates with teams across the organization to craft differentiated, well-positioned responses; ensures that questions are comprehensively answered and that written responses are appropriately customized for the specific opportunity. 

•    Works within our structured, organized RFP process incorporating stakeholder inputs, reviews, and strict deadlines. 

•    Develops a strong knowledge base of the firm's products and approach and other aspects of the corporate platform to understand and respond to client requests effectively requests. 

•    Writes and maintains content in the RocketDocs database according to an established refresh schedule. 

•    Contributes to improving processes for working with subject matter experts to facilitate accurate and effective description of capabilities in sales proposals. 

•    Optimizes end-to-end proposal process to ensure quality and efficiency: Edits proposals for responsiveness, accuracy, style, and adherence to sales strategy. 

•    Helps develop internal customer feedback mechanisms to support continuous quality management. 

•    Assist with creating and updating client communication materials, including benefit brochures, cards, posters, postcards, and flyers. 

•    Supports projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely completion and meeting project deadlines within established constraints, such as time, cost, and quality standards. 

•    Partners with various internal and external contacts to create results-oriented communication programs. 

•    Assists with creating, designing, and distributing internal/Sales communication materials, including sales brochures, one pager, ads, and presentations. 

•    Supports Producers and Consultants with Salesforce; and develops a strong knowledge to be an SME. 

•    Prepares, proofs, prints, and binds documents and presentations. 

•    Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information). 

•    Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's Degree, in Communication Arts or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Two (2) or more years, relevant employee benefit-related communications experience within a consulting or corporate environment  

Project management experience a plus 

Strong portfolio exhibiting excellent writing skills

Valid Insurance License, or must be obtained, within 90 Days 

 

 

SKILLS 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines 

Strong troubleshooting skills 

Self-motivated with strong work ethic and attitude 

Ability to project a professional image in action and appearance with all stakeholders 

Proficient in MS Office Suite including PowerPoint 

Ability to meet very tight turnaround times on multiple projects 

Current knowledge of health and welfare benefits a plus
