SUMMARY 

Responsible for overseeing the development and management of BI products and solutions. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to define product vision and strategy, gathering and prioritizing requirements, and ensuring the successful delivery of BI products that meet business needs. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, developers, and business leaders, to ensure the BI products are aligned with the organization's goals. Additionally, this role requires strong leadership skills to guide a team of product owners and ensure a user-focused approach to BI development.  Responsible for agile leadership, agile coaching, and occasional direct involvement in product ownership and management tasks.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

•    Leads a team of BI product owners and product managers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the team's success;

•    Fosters a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, accountability, and excellence;

•    Champions Agile methodologies and practices within the team and across the organization, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and best practices;

•    Provides Agile coaching and support to team members, helping them to effectively apply Agile frameworks and techniques to product development processes;

•    Drives the adoption of Agile mindset and practices, promoting continuous learning and adaptation;

•    Identifies and pursues any industry certifications that materially benefit team members;

•    Takes on direct product ownership and product management responsibilities as needed, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap;

•    Conducts market research, gathers customer feedback, and analyzes data to inform product decisions and prioritize features and enhancements;

•    Works closely with stakeholders to communicate product plans, gather requirements, and ensure alignment with business objectives;

•    Fosters strong collaboration and communication within the team and with stakeholders across the organization, ensuring transparency and alignment on product goals and priorities;

•    Acts as a liaison between the product team and other departments including engineering, architecture, and production support, ensuring smooth coordination and alignment of efforts;

•    Ensures a transparent and effective process for backlog management, allowing business and technology stakeholders to clearly interact with and understand a product and team’s direction;

•    Defines and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for BI solutions;

•    Gathers and prioritize business requirements from stakeholders to ensure BI products meet user needs;

•    Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, data analysts, and business leaders, to deliver high-quality BI products;

•    Oversees the product lifecycle, from ideation to delivery, ensuring timely and successful product launches;

•    Continuously evaluate and improve BI products based on user feedback and market trends;

•    Ensures BI products align with the organization’s overall business objectives and strategy;

•    Performs all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates;

•    Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related field.

Master's Degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related field.

Five (5) or more years experience in product management or related roles, with a proven track record of delivering successful products and driving product strategy.

Two (2) or more years experience in a leadership or management role, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

One (1) or more years experience as a member of a SAFe Agile Release Train.

SKILLS

Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience applying Agile practices in a product development environment

Product management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation and excellence in product development

Proficiency in BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.

Data Analytics: Strong understanding of data analysis, data modeling, and reporting techniques.

Experience with product lifecycle management, including product planning, development, and launch.

Requirements Gathering: Ability to effectively gather, analyze, and prioritize business and user requirements.

Familiarity with Agile or Scrum frameworks, including backlog management and sprint planning.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.

Knowledge of data visualization best practices to ensure effective presentation of data insights.

Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate a team of product owners or managers.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on product goals and objectives.

Strong decision-making skills to prioritize tasks, resources, and product features based on business impact.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of BI products.

Ability to think strategically and align product development with business goals and objectives.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas and updates effectively.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges in product development.

Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, data analysts, and business leaders.

Strong focus on user needs and ensuring that BI products deliver value to end-users.

Understanding of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape related to BI and data analytics.

Awareness of emerging BI technologies and trends that can drive innovation in product development.
