Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time Construction Equipment Shop Foreman for our Orlando, FL branch, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our construction equipment maintenance and repair facility. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient functioning of equipment, managing a team of technicians, and maintaining a safe working environment. You will coordinate with various departments to prioritize repairs and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, manage workload distribution, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Oversee the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of construction equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and compactors.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and develop appropriate repair plans.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to promote awareness and prevent accidents.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities meet industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Conduct post-repair inspections and performance tests to verify the effectiveness of work done.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance history, repairs performed, and parts usage using digital and/or paper-based systems.
  • Generate reports on equipment status, repair costs, and operational efficiency to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the construction equipment industry, with a strong understanding of equipment mechanics and repair techniques.
  • Technical knowledge of various construction equipment types and their components, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of technicians.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other software tools for inventory management and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification or training in equipment maintenance and repair, such as ASE certification or manufacturer-specific training programs, is preferred.
