Job Overview:

The Inventory Manager will assist with oversite and optimization of the company's inventory operations for material handling equipment across both retail and wholesale sectors. This role ensures that the company maintains optimal stock levels, minimizes costs, and meets customer demand efficiently. The Inventory Manager will collaborate with purchasing, sales, operations, and finance teams to develop and implement effective inventory management strategies, ensuring a seamless supply chain and contributing to the company's overall profitability.  The Inventory Manager will report to the VP of Inventory and Wholesale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Strategy: Develop and execute an inventory management strategy that aligns with business goals, including forecasting, stocking levels, and turnover rates.  Be an integral part of the team and process for physical inventory across the business footprint.
  • Demand Planning: Collaborate with sales and operations to forecast demand, analyze market trends, and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
  • Stock Optimization: Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or overstocked items and develop strategies for clearance or stock adjustments.
  • Systems & Processes: Implement and manage inventory management software and other tools to streamline inventory control, including barcoding, cycle counting, and data analytics.  Includes deep involvement in scope, blueprint and integration of new ERP system.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with sales, purchasing, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels and resolve inventory discrepancies or supply chain issues.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and manage inventory-related financial metrics such as carrying costs, inventory turnover rates, and stock shrinkage, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the inventory team, ensuring continuous development, training, and alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years supply chain management experience, including purchasing, distribution, forecasting, negotiations, etc.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software.
  • 3 years in a management level role with people management responsibilities.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills (written, verbal, listening).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as well as across geographies.
  • Strong problem-solving, data analytics, and decision-making abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills both internal and external.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
