Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for international trade and logistics? Lynden Logistics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trade Director - Lower 48 to oversee our trade lane and markets. This role demands exceptional organizational and communication skills, a deep understanding of our systems and customer requirements, and a willingness to travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Lane Management: Oversee trade activities, monitor performance using Tableau, and manage the P&L for assigned trade lanes/markets.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with executive management to develop and implement annual and long-term objectives for growth and efficiency in trade lanes/markets.
  • Business Development: Drive strategies to enhance operational efficiencies, expand the customer base, and explore new business opportunities.
  • Performance Review: Analyze business performance, implement corrective actions, and develop plans and budgets for trade lanes/markets.
  • Customer and Sales Support: Manage key accounts, lead the sales team, and collaborate with internal departments and external partners to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Vendor and Service Coordination: Support arrangements with carriers, identify key vendor relationships, and assist in vendor negotiations and quality reviews.
  • New Business Initiatives: Aid in onboarding new business, develop pricing tools, and assist with proposals and RFQs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in freight forwarding operations (domestic and international air, ocean).
  • Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of domestic and international transportation (air, trucking, ocean) and experience with tariffs and regulations.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to apply mathematical concepts in practical situations.
  • Customer Relations: Proven ability to build and maintain a client base and balance customer and operational expectations.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel locally and overnight as needed.

Additional Information:

  • Pre-employment Requirements: Pass a drug test and background screening.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Certifications: Ability to possess a STA or TSA recognized equivalents. STA will be submitted by Lynden Logistics upon job offer and renewed thereafter.
