MultiTech is looking for a Cost Analyst to join our team!
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough, accurate and complete record of actual and expected product cost.
- Execute monthly cost rollup in ERP system and highlight reasons for cost changes.
- Prepare cost estimates of products not yet included in ERP.
- Solicit and negotiate quotes for manufacturing subcontract services for custom products.
- Analyze and compare cost differences for alternative manufacturing options. Identify opportunities and make recommendations for cost improvements (without compromising quality).
- Ensure historical record of manufacturing subcontract costs center and accounts are correct.
- Track, report out and interpret costing trends to help leadership understand business impact and plan accordingly.
- Maintain history of pricing, terms and similar commercial information submitted to customers.
- Prepare and analyze monthly cost variance and inventory reports.
- Respond to commercial requests from customers (new and existing, updating pricing).
- Ensure that ERP customer price tables are updated and complete.
- Establish and maintain good relationships throughout, with other team members and with key external partners such as customers and subcontract manufacturers.
Secondary duties:
- Research goods & services; quality, specifications, price, availability, delivery, freight.
- Facilitate accurate and effective communications between purchase requestor and vendor, to ensure expectations and requirements are fulfilled.
- Keep a record of sustainability information supplied from vendors and to customers.
- Produce & analyze cost variance reports.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations, or other applicable field; equivalent applicable experience considered.
- 2-5 years of work experience in operations and/or production cost analysis in a manufacturing environment required; technology manufacturing experience preferred.
- Organized, methodical and thorough in compiling and analyzing data, and in maintaining records.
- Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills.
- Vietnamese, Chinese or Japanese language skills would be an asset.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing costs and cost accounting.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel).
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, and a habit of meeting deadlines. Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with multiple business functions.
