Associate Facilitator

Job Title: Second City Works Associate Facilitator  

Location: New York City, NY 

Job Type: Part-Time 

Compensation: $400 for half day programs

$800 for full day programs

Reports to: Creative Director of Second City Works

About this Role: The Associate Facilitator at Second City Works is an entry-level position ideal for those with a background in improvisation. Based in our new Brooklyn location, this role is a key part of our initiative to build a New York City-based talent pool capable of delivering our unique applied improvisation programs. Under the mentorship of the SCW Creative Director and Senior Facilitators, Associate Facilitators develop robust communication skills, collaborative mindsets, and inclusive leadership styles. This role offers an immersive experience in applied improvisation, setting the stage for potential advancement to full SCW Facilitator status within Second City's distinctive learning framework. 

Desired Qualifications: 

• Graduate of a high-level improvisation training program or comparable performance experience. 

• 3+ years of improv teaching experience. 

• 3+ years of experience in relevant fields, including but not limited to corporate settings, education, training, coaching, or other professional environments outside of Entertainment & Comedy.  

• A commitment to growing and developing skills in Applied Improvisation. 

• Capability to deliver programming online with basic technical setup for virtual delivery. 

• Ability to travel for in-person programming and availability to deliver programming during traditional business hours (Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm). 

Core Responsibilities: 

• Deliver curriculum effectively, consistent with The Second City's style and approach, as outlined in the Second City Facilitator Guide. 

• Adhere to guidelines provided by the SCW Creative Director, Senior Facilitators, and Production Managers. 

• Interact with clients in a way that exemplifies SCW’s core philosophies. 

• Attend relevant facilitator training sessions and meetings. 

• Respond promptly and effectively to all communications. 

• Participate in a merit-based promotion process, with potential advancement based on skill, contribution, and alignment with Second City's standards. 

• Embrace and contribute to our commitment towards a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. 

• Engage in continuous learning and receive constructive feedback for professional growth. 

• Be adaptable and flexible to meet the evolving needs of Second City Works and its clients.
