Overall Scope

 

The IT Network Administrator is directly responsible for the maintenance and security of various network-based servers and providing support in our Disputanta, VA Distribution Center and across our organization.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems preferred
  • Cybersecurity Certification or experience a plus
  • 5+ years of Network Administrator experience
  • Must have a solid understanding of networking technologies and services, such as switching/routing skills and WAN skills, such as (BGP).
  • Must be able to troubleshoot connectivity issues from WAN down to the desktop level.
  • Active Directory Experience
  • Preferred Citrix Experience
  • Preferred Experience with O365, SAN Experience, EXSi VMWare, and On-Prem Windows Servers.
  • Strong MS Office skills, good judgment, and decision-making; ability to multi-task.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with end users, vendors, and customers.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Maintains network performance by monitoring and analyzing networks, evaluating performance issues, troubleshooting network problems, and escalating problems as needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing network security, monitoring and evaluation, installation and implementation of security updates, and monitoring for security breaches.
  • Reviews/research hardware-related items for purchase and installation.
  • Provides 1st-level incident and problem management support activities leveraging the ticketing system. Investigates, diagnoses, and proactively takes prescribed actions on all networking events, alarms, and incidents
  • Develops and maintains information about network topology, documentation, and configuration items and ensures accuracy and availability to others. This includes labeling network components with asset tags and tracking component locations, serial numbers, IP/MAC addresses, and owners
  • Manages network performance, capacity, and availability through detailed analysis on a scheduled basis, providing feedback to management, including recommendations for remediation.
  • Recommends new technology and presents it to team members.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Ergonomic Focus and Additional Qualifications

 

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Other physical demands: standing and walking; occasional bending/stooping; exposure to hot, cold, and dust (normal warehouse conditions)
  • May require work during business demands on alternate shift including evenings and weekends
