 Food Careers

Purpose:

  • Provide administrative support for day-to-day operations of the credit department.
  • Set up, process, and monitor credit applications, including follow-up until completion.
  • Maintain excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Manage customer accounts and ensure accurate recording and filing of credit data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup, process, and monitor progress.
  • Process and follow up on references for credit applications.
  • Audit new customer account files for completion.
  • Provide excellent customer service internally and externally.
  • Respond promptly to customer invoice requests.
  • Research invoice short pays and follow up to resolution.
  • Maintain and follow up on customer needs.
  • Set up customer accounts and maintain master customer file.
  • Ensure verification and documentation of customer taxability.
  • Process non-sufficient funds checks and update customer accounts.
  • Maintain monthly tax reports and communicate with customers and the sales team about expiring tax permits.
  • Review accounts receivable records and investigate discrepancies or errors.
  • Maintain aging reports and handle credit memos.
  • Access and protect highly confidential information, sharing only with authorized personnel.
  • Knowledge and Experience:
  • High School graduate / GED.
  • Previous experience with credit/collections is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and use Ben E. Keith applications.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Customer-focused.
  • Professionalism, positive attitude, and adherence to dress code.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Flexibility to adjust the schedule as needed for business requirements.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
