What You’ll Do

 

The Building Envelope Intern will work on active repair projects and leak analysis throughout our existing buildings.  Individuals will learn about the details that go into designing and maintaining all elements of the Building Envelope:  Roofs, Windows, Masonry and EIFS. 

L+M offers a comprehensive intern program.  During the ten-week program, interns will gain exposure to the jobsite, means and methods of construction, tour several jobsites, attend a lunch with company leaders, and make a presentation on lessons learned to senior management. Specific duties will vary depending on the team but include tasks similar to these:

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Visit existing communities to measure, analyze and document roofs & facades.
  • Prepare Roof Surveys and create Chart documenting roof conditions throughout our portfolio.
  • Attend active Repair Project Visits and prepare Site Visit Reports.
  • Attend Leak Visits throughout existing Communities and prepare Site Visit Reports.
  • FISP Reports & DOBNOW data analysis and documentation.

 

 

Who We Want

  • This is an entry level internship into the discipline of Building Envelopes and Waterproofing. We are looking for an individual with an eagerness to learn and an enthusiasm for detail. 
  • Undergraduate or Graduate student studying Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
  • Interests in Forensic Architecture, Energy Efficiencies and Construction are recommended.
  • Working at heights will be necessary.
